Abstract
The study included the preparation and characterization of two new thiocimecarbazide ligands of N1-cyclohexyl-N2-(dietheylcarbamoyl) hydrazine-1,2-bis(carbothioamide) (L1) and N-cyclohexyl-2-((dietheylcarbamoyl)carbamoyl thioyl) hydrazine-1-carboxamide L2, scheme (1) A series of first – row transition metal complexes were isolated from the mixing of the title ligand with a range of metal ions; Mn (II), Co (II), Ni (II) and Cu (II).
The reaction metal: ligand in a 1:1 mole ratio using EtOH as solvent. The chemical formula of complexes derived from L1 is presented in scheme 2 and as follows; [(L1) MnCl2H2O], [(L1) CoCl2H2O], [(L1) NiCl2H2O] [(L1) CuCl2H2O]. Further complexes derived from L2 is placed in scheme 2 and have the following formula [(L2) MnCl2H2O], [(L2) CoCl2 H2O] [(L2) NiCl2H2O], [(L2) CuCl2H2O]
Scheme (1) Synthetic route of ligands.
The entity of the expected structure of the ligands and their metal complexes were illustrated through a range of physicochemical techniques. These include; FT-IR, electronic spectra, A.A, 1H- and 13 C- NMR spectra, electrospray mass spectroscopy, chloride content, metal content, elemental analysis, melting point, molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements.
Scheme (2) Synthetic of complexes
The spectral and analytical analyses concluded the isolation of six-coordinate with (Mn (II), Co (II), Ni (II) and Cu (II) with a distorted octahedral geometry about the center atom. However, the biological activity (anti-bacterial) G+ and G- bacterial was explored.
