Abstract

 

New compounds were synthesized from isatin and 1H-indene 1,2,3-trione in this thesis, and their purity was validated using thin layer chromatography(TLC) . Using spectroscopy techniques such as [FT-IR,1H-NMR and13C-NMR], the chemical structures of the produced compounds (Z1-Z11) were determined.

Compound Z11 was utilized as a ligand in the creation of new complexes by reacting with transition metal salts like(NiCl2.6H2O,CuCl2.2H2O, CdCl2.H2O and ZnCl2). UV-Vis, FT-IR, atomic absorption spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity and studies were used to distinguish the novel complexes.

Melting points measurements using to characterize of prepared complexes. The following steps were included in the current research:

Synthesis of 6-H indolo[2,3-b]quinoxaline-2-carboxylic acide [Z1],   from the reaction of Isatin with 3,4-diamino benzoic acid.

Synthesis of 6H-indolo [2,3-b] quinoxaline-2-carbonyl chloride [Z2]  by the reaction of  [Z1] compound with thionyl chioride.Then allowed the second compound to react with potassium thiocyanate  to synthesis 6H-indolo[2,3-b]quinoxaline-2-carbonyl iso thiocyanate[Z3].

Synthesis of thiourea derivitives [Z4-Z8] by the reaction of [Z3] compound with aniline and substituted aniline.

Synthesis 6-(Phenyl carbamo thioyl)- 6H- indolo [2,3-b] quinoxaline- 2- carbonyl chloride[Z9] by the reaction of Z2 compound with isothiocyanate benzene to get new and effective replacement reaction compound.

Synthesis 6-(naphthalene-1-ylcarbamoyl)-6H-indolo[2,3-b]quinoxaline-2-carbonyl chloride (Z10) by the reaction of  Z2 compound with 1-naphthyl isocyanate to get new and effective replacement reaction compound.

Reaction of  1H-indene 1,2,3-trione with 4-methyl benzene-1,2-diamine  to produce a new compound  7-methyl-11H-indene[1,2-b]quinoxaline-11-one [Z11], and its complexes [Ni(Z11)2Cl2].6H2O,[Cu(Z11)2Cl2].6H2O, [Cd(Z11)2Cl2].6H2O and [Zn(Z11)2Cl2].6H2O .

Finally, the biological activity of several produced compounds was tested against two species of bacteria (E.Colias and S. Aureus). When tested against two strains of bacteria, the majority of these compounds showed good to acceptable antibacterial activity.
