abstract
In this work, we used the pulsed Nd:YAG laser ablation technique in liquid to synthesize nanoparticles of trimetallic Au/Ag/Zn colloidal NPs and monometallic Au, Ag, and Zn colloidal NPs in liquid (ID water). We used laser energy (520 mJ) with a frequency (1Hz), different wavelengths 532 and 1064 nm with different numbers of pulses (500, 1000, 1500, and 2000) for monometallic colloidal NPs. For peppering Au and Ag colloidal, we used (500,1000, 1500, and 2000 pulses), then the metallic NPs were mixed as Aquinas solution medium for zinc target. The laser pulse were setting for 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 to synthesis nano hybrid of trimetallic Zn/Au/Ag colloidal NPs.
XRF, XRD, FESEM, EDX, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and Zeta potential measurements were used to examine the structural, morphological, optical, and stability properties of the produced samples. The antiactivity of fungus was investigated as a biological application of generated monometallic and trimetallic Au/Ag/AZ colloidal NPs. XRF results showed the all metals targets have high purity. The X-ray results of silver and gold nanoparticles showed that the crystal system is cubic and polycrystalline, and the crystal plane orientation in the [111] direction is dominant at both wavelengths. The ZnO nanoparticles have a polycrystalline structure and have a hexagonal shape; the peak positions were more pronounced [101]. The orientation of the crystal plane towards [101] is also dominant at both wavelengths, and in the case of the Ag/Au/ZnO hybrid nano hybrid , there is a phase for cubic Ag that corresponds to high concentrations of Ag content. At both wavelengths and for all pulses.
FE-SEM results of samples prepared with deionized water (DW) showed that the size and shape of hybrid Au/Ag/ZnO nanoparticles. The nanoparticles with particle size of (35.84-99.6nm) at (1000 pulses), (31.06-103.48nm) at (2000 pulses), (18.9-113.07nm) at (3000 pulses) and (15.61-64. (63nm) at (4000 pulses) for wavelength (1064nm) and for wavelength (532nm) with particle size (39.86-124.60nm) at (1000 pulses), (27.78-109.86nm) at (2000 pulses), (30.55-92.68nm) at (3000 pulses) and (22.66-213.37) at (4000 pulses).
The plasmon resonance of Au and Ag colloidal nanoparticles was confirmed at (520-400nm) for gold and silver, respectively, by analyzing the UV-vis absorption spectrum. For both the silver and gold solutions, the change was in the visible spectrum region, while for Ag, it was in the ultraviolet region, according to the absorbance spectrum.
Regarding the zeta potential test, we note that at both laser-ablated wavelengths, the zeta potential stabilizes for every sample.
Au-Ag-Zn and Au/Ag/ZnO NPs produced with various laser settings in deionized water are antifungal agents in biological applications. The five species with the highest levels of fungus inhibition in the Ag-mix were Fusarium, Aspergillus, Microsporum canis, Candida albicans, and Basidiobolus.
